5 Military Robots That Make Drones Look Tame
So, unmanned military aircraft — what most of us call “drones” — are only the beginning. Smart people all over the world are developing a multitude of terrifying robots right now.
Here’s a look at the army of the future being created by a company called Boston Dynamics.
Be amazed and be afraid.
1. WildCat
Don’t let it’s bulky physique fool you. The WildCat can bound and gallop at up to 16 mph. While that’s slower than Usain Bolt, it’s faster than most other people — and it can go for miles and miles.
This reporter gives you nine seconds before you hit the floor.
2. PETMAN
No, Petman isn’t terrifying at all. It’s just its camouflage uni, gas mask and stomping gait that makes it look just a little imposing. Relax and pretend you’re getting down with the clown at the annual Gathering of the Juggalos.
3. Atlas
I don’t know about you, but I’d grind up on this sexy humanoid. It runs on Jägerbombs.
4. The Cheetah
So remember what I said about Usain Bolt? The Cheetah is actually faster but there’s a big catch — it has to be plugged in. C’mon guys, is this the best you got?
5. Sand Flea
Chillin, chillin, chillin, nothing special about this little remote controlled car. AND THEN IT JUMPS ONTO THE ROOF OF A BUILDING. You’ll hardly even be surprised when it jumps back off without a problem and surmounts a cliff face for lulz.
