Americans Rank Congressmen Below People Who Sell Cars

Who are the only people who rank below car salespeople in terms of honesty? Congressmen and lobbyists.

Only eight percent of Americans think members of Congress have high standards of honesty and ethics and six percent believe the same for lobbyists, according to a new Gallup poll. Car salespeople barely edge out both of those professions at nine percent.

The only question is, who are the eight percent of people who believe members of Congress are honest?

To be fair, the news media doesn’t do much better. Newspaper reporters (21 percent) and TV journalists (20 percent) are about on par with lawyers (20 percent) in the eyes of Americans.
