Bernie Sanders says tuition-free university is not a 'radical' idea, but he has a few others that are

Bernie Sanders says making public colleges and universities tuition-free is not a radical idea.

“Here’s a radical idea…in the last 30 years, trillions of dollars have been redistributed from the middle class,” Sanders told crowd assembled at Drake University for the Iowa Brown and Black Forum (and the r/BernieForPresident redditors live-streaming from home). “Making public colleges and universities tuition-free is not a radical idea.”

Sanders answer came in response to Fusion’s Akilah Hughes question about affirmative action, an issue that the Supreme Court of the United States is expected to rule on later this year.

Sanders continued by saying that “in the richest country in the history of the world,” kids of all races deserve equal access to education.

Sanders later revealed another radical bit of information when talking about abstinence-only education. “I’m a United States senator who believes in science and who believes in facts.”

Oh god. That is radical.
