Billy Bush is the only person being brought to justice for the Donald Trump video

Thank god the debate is over so we can all get back to what really matters: the ongoing saga of Billy Bush.

You will recall that Billy—Bush family rascal, Today show co-host and thick-thigh-haver—has seen his life take a nasty turn ever since he popped up on that historically evil Donald Trump tape, laughing along as Trump recounted the fun he had sexually assaulting women.

Billy’s Facebook page was torched by outraged civilians, he was forced to issue contrite statements saying that he was just an innocent little baby of 33 when he got such a thrill hearing Donald Trump to talk about all the women he’d violated, and he presumably had to beg his bosses at NBC News not to chuck him out of his job.

So how’s all that going? Well, let’s cut to Monday morning, and this ice-cold aside from Today host Savannah Guthrie.

That’s right. Billy’s been yanked! Today bigwig Noah Oppenheim sent a memo to his people on Sunday saying that Billy was suspended from the show. “Let me be clear—there is simply no excuse for Billy’s language and behavior on that tape,” he wrote.

But now it looks rather worse than that. “He will never be on the show again,” a source told CNN’s Brian Stelter. People was even juicier, with this incredible person-by-person breakdown of each Today anchor’s level of loathing for Billy:

“Ever since [Ryan] Lochte, a lot of people have thought that he was a liability anyway,” says the insider. “Tamron [Hall] doesn’t like him and they have always been uncomfortable around each other. Al [Roker] doesn’t speak to him, like at all. There is no love lost there. Matt [Lauer] is okay with him, not friends, but okay. He doesn’t have much of a relationship with Savannah [Guthrie]. So it won’t be a loss to any of them personally if he doesn’t come back.

When the absolute best review you’re getting from a co-worker is, “I’m okay with you, not friends, but okay”…yikes. Maybe Billy should be grateful that he’s being dumped from such a hostile work environment.

So it’s curtains for Billy, then! He should cheer up, though: even though he’s a national disgrace, he’s still winning the “least-awful Bush” prize…just.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is still allowed to roam free, grabbing whatever he wants to grab, because NBC television shows are apparently able to handle their business in a more proper fashion than the American electorate. Just a few more weeks to go, everyone!
