Republican leaders in the House of Representatives are planning to lay out a series of changes to the nation’s immigration laws, but it’s run into some serious resistance among conservative lawmakers.

Top Republicans could roll their their set of principles as soon as today, at the conference’s annual retreat in Maryland. A lot of ink has already been spilled about how conservatives are wary of bringing up immigration this year, especially a proposal that would offer legal status to undocumented immigrants.
