Brave patriot sets out to citizen's arrest Obama over Iran deal

Earlier this year, the United States, along with several partner nations and the EU, reached a deal with Iran over the country’s nuclear policy. Iran agreed to stop pursuing nuclear weapons in exchange for the opportunity to sell its oil and otherwise participate in the international economy.

This is tantamount to treason, apparently, at least to one brave man, who has definitely never been mad online.

Jon Ritzheimer, patriot, has announced that he wants to citizen-arrest members of Congress for voting for the Iran deal. First up: Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan. In an open letter, Ritzheimer outlined his plan and dubbed Stabenow his “first target.”

She will be arrested for treason under Article 3 Section 3 of the Constitution. We have chosen her as our first target due to our strong ties with the Michigan State Militia and their lax gun laws that will allow us to operate in a manner necessary for an operation like this.

The relevant portion of the constitution Ritzheimer is citing says, “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”

After the citizen’s arrest of Stabenow is made, Ritzheimer says he’ll make his way across the country and eventually arrest President Obama.

Unfortunately for Ritzheimer, the Oath Keepers, who he has said will help him on his quest, want nothing to do with him.

“He has now been suspended for his actions, and we are in the process of following our bylaws to kick him out entirely. We, in NO WAY condone his actions, and are in the process of putting out statements to our membership to inform them of such,” Jason Van Tatenhove, media director for the Oath Keepers, told the Washington Times.

You might remember Ritzenheimer from previous defenses of the Constitution. In May, in response to the shooting in Texas earlier this year at a Draw Mohammed contest, he held a “Freedom of Speech” rally outside of a Phoenix mosque. It drew a pretty mixed crowd.

An aide to Stabenow told Roll Call that Capitol Police and Michigan law enforcement were aware of the situation and investigating. I have a feeling this will all be wrapped up very quickly.

Ritzheimer stated he has notified law enforcement about his intentions, and plans to cooperate with them “and try to keep this as smooth as possible so we don’t have another ‘Shot Heard Round The World’ situation.” He is also seeking donations for his mission.

Ah, it appears Mr. Ritzheimer needs a history lesson on top of a refresher course in civics.
