Britney Spears' 'Britney Jean': It Works, B***h!

Britney Spears just came out with her eighth studio album, Britney Jean, so duh, there is no other music news this week! Forget the fact that on the X Factor, she always seemed kind of pleasantly painkillered away into oblivion. On Britney Jean, she’s pretty fierce again.

Just take the first single, “Work Bitch.” That’s Britney at her best, embracing her total campiness and just writing directly to muscle men and drag queens. (Know your brand and work it, bitch!)

But then there’s the other single, “Perfume,” which is introspective Britney, sad over a girl who comes back into her man’s life. Eh, this isn’t quite camp enough.

We could also all do without the “official lyrics video,” which is a bunch of cheap shots of a random hotel room and stock video of highways with some fonts superimposed over it. We want to see the real Britney emoting!

You know what does work the best on Britney Jean, though? Dancefloor bangers like “Tik Tik Boom,” which features TI, and “It Should Be Easy,” which features will.i.am.

Just aim for the club, Britney, and leave the crying for when you want to fully commit.
