Comic: Democracy Isn't a Partisan Issue

I think I’m done with the categories “conservative” and “liberal” for now. They have become obsolete in an America on the brink of authoritarianism. Perhaps these oppositions once sufficed, at a time when democratic norms were more firmly in place. But we’ve reached a point where efforts to preserve the illusion of “balance” — casting every argument as partisan, every statement as merely part of a larger ideological battle — is destroying the free and open society the fourth estate is supposedly there to protect in the first place.
