Deez Nuts might be inching towards a spot in the next Republican debate

You always knew “Deez Nuts” would be a fringe candidate. His positions on foreign policy were too radical; his social conservatism sounded like it came from a 1970s history textbook. Okay, maybe not that bad, but you get the idea. Deez Nuts never had a chance.

Or did he? Recent polls out of North Carolina, courtesy of Public Policy Polling, show Deez Nuts steadily climbing the Republican presidential candidate ranks. Outpolling Mike Huckabee and Scott Walker, Deez Nuts is up to a whopping 9% in North Carolina. Only Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Jeb Bush, and Ted Cruz surpass Mr. Nuts’s stranglehold on those 9% of North Carolinians looking toward one of this nation’s great truth-tellers to lead them to this next phase of American greatness.

His 9% surpasses his 8% figure from Iowa and 7% in Minnesota, a clear sign Deez Nuts’s platforms are beginning to truly spread their wings and fly free, finding their resting place in the hearts of the believers and the minds of the dreamers.

We are all Deez Nuts.
