Don Jr. Posts Meme About Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Eating Dogs, Really Needs a Finsta Already
Looks like Donald Trump Jr. is still trying to earn his father’s love with liberal-triggering memes, this time getting those sweet, sweet AOC hate likes that conservatives have recently made their lifeblood.
On Thursday, Trump posted a s c a t h i n g hot take of a meme insinuating that democratic socialists, and specifically incoming New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, eat dogs.
In the post, Ocasio-Cortez is captioned asking, “Why are you so afraid of a socialist economy?” In the panel below her, President Donald Trump is responding, “Because Americans want to walk their dogs, not eat them!”
“It’s funny cuz it’s true!!! ” the president’s bumbling Large Adult Son captioned the post.
It’s unclear which part Trump Jr. considers “true”—that AOC, or other democratic socialists for that matter, are at all operating under the same system that’s led to the poorest of Venezuelans eating whatever they can to survive as their economy collapses, or that AOC herself eats dogs, for socialism or something. But because Don Jr. is extremely too online, it makes sense that he’d be picking up on one of the conservative online sewer’s favorite memes that they think somehow proves socialism is bad.
Regardless, this weird dog whistle of a post shows Trump Jr., along with other conservatives, once again fixating on Ocasio-Cortez’s brownness to make a point—that “socialism is bad,” and that it somehow aligns her with other groups of people who eat dogs, another frequently parroted lie.
Junior, just get a fucking finstagram already, then you can bitch about how much you want your father’s approval while giving the liberal-pwnage a rest for someone who your father actually likes. Kimberly Guilfoyle more than likely already has one, she can show you the ropes.
Update, 2:36 p.m. ET: Ocasio-Cortez has responded to Trump Jr. in true AOC unabashed quote-tweet fashion, reminding him that she’s just a month away from being sworn into Congress, which would allow her to subpoena interviews and documents from, say, one Donald Trump Jr.
“Have fun!” she tweeted.
