Donald Trump Jr. Posted a Really Obviously Photoshopped Image To Make His Dad Look Good
Avid Instagram user Donald Trump Jr. on Thursday posted a very obviously photoshopped graphic comparing approval ratings for President Trump and Obama which made things look pretty rosy for his dad.
The sloppily edited graphic clocks Trump’s approval rating at 50% compared to Obama’s 45%, but you can make out that the original graphic found Trump’s rating to actually be 40%. The photo appears to be lifted from a CNN segment fact-checking a Trump Sr. tweet that incorrectly claimed his approval rating was higher than Obama’s at this point in his presidency.
As the Washington Post pointed out, the doctored image was posted by the Instagram user @thepatriotsupplyco hours before Trump posted it for his more than 1 million followers. It’s unclear if Don Jr. knew the image was edited.
Oh, what a tangled web we weave. The real cherry on top, though, is Don Jr.’s misspelling the hashtag “#amreicafirst.”
After hundreds of comments pointing out the tampered numbers, Don Jr. deleted the image on Friday afternoon.
