Donald Trump just openly threatened to throw Hillary Clinton in jail if he becomes president
Donald Trump made an already extremely uncomfortable debate even more so by explicitly threatening to instruct his attorney general to launch a legal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.
“There has never been anything like this with emails, and you get a subpoena,” Trump said, pausing to sniffle. “You get a subpoena and after getting the subpoena, you delete 33,000 emails.
“So we’re gonna get a special prosecutor, and we’re gonna look into it, because you know what? People have been- their lives have been destroyed because they were doing 1/5 of what you’ve done. And it’s a disgrace. And honestly? You oughta be ashamed of yourself.”
Clinton, talking over moderator Martha Raddatz to respond, quoted “my friend Michelle Obama,” who said, “When they go low, you go high.” She ended her response with, “It’s just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country.”
“Because you’d be in jail,” Trump quipped with a smirk to the camera to cheers from the audience.
