Donald Trump said to 'ask the gays' about him. The response was priceless.

Donald Trump has responded in typically appalling fashion to the Orlando shooting, but one slightly surprising aspect of his approach to the tragedy has been his repeated claims that he is an ally of the LGBTQ community.

He continued this theme during a rally in Atlanta on Wednesday, suggesting that the LGBTQ community was on board with his candidacy .

At the event, Trump once again spoke out against Hillary Clinton for the Clinton Foundation’s alleged acceptance of up to $25 million from Saudi Arabia, a country where gay sex is punishable by death. He said, “Ask the gays what they think and what they do, in, not only Saudi Arabia, but many of these countries, and then you tell me,” adding “who’s your friend, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?”

Well. “The gays,” as Trump so lovingly refers to LGTBQ Americans, quickly took to Twitter to make it very, very clear that Trump—who, among other things, opposes marriage equality and who is reportedly making potential business deals in Saudi Arabia—is no friend of theirs.

The “Trump: Ask the gays!” meme sprang up quickly, and has gifted us with a number appropriate and fitting reactions to a statement like “ask the gays.” Here are our ten favorite:

We have a feeling that wasn’t the response Trump was hoping for.
