Donald Trump Tweets His Thoughts and Prayers for Victims of the Wrong Mass Shooting

President Donald Trump returned from his extended tour of Asia on Tuesday with some straightforward words of comfort for the small community of Sutherland Springs, TX:

Unfortunately, that message was almost certainly intended for the people of Tehama County, CA, where a gunman killed at least four people and wounded multiple children on Tuesday after targeting an elementary school and other seemingly random locations.

As it happens, Trump’s erroneous tweet—which he finally deleted shortly before 8:30 a.m. this morning, after it was live all night—is nearly identical to one he shared on November 5 in the aftermath of the devastating mass shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs.

So, what’s worse? The fact that the president seems to have a stock tweet on deck for horrific acts of gun violence in this country or that there are so many mass shootings that even he can’t keep them straight?
