Donald Trump weighs in on price-gouging drug CEO Martin Shkreli: 'He looks like a spoiled brat'

Finally, the Martin Shkreli take we’ve been waiting for has arrived.

Donald Trump, who never met a media firestorm he didn’t like, offered his opinion on the viral pharmaceutical scandal at a campaign stop in North Charleston, South Carolina. (If you’ve been stuck under a rock: Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli became a national lightning rod this week after raising the price of Daraprim, a crucial toxoplasmosis drug used by cancer and AIDS patients, by 5,000% per pill. Shkreli later backed down, and said he would only raise the drug’s price by a smaller, unspecified amount.)

According to NBC News reporter Katy Tur, Trump agreed with Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders about the Shkreli situation, saying, “He looks like a spoiled brat to me. He’s a hedge fund guy. I thought it was disgusting what he did.”

According to CBS politics producer DJ Judd, Trump also called Shkreli “a zero, a nothing”:

Shkreli also made an enemy today in Collect Records, a small Brooklyn record label, which decided to drop him as a silent investor after the Daraprim uproar.

Even though he’s already backed down and logged off Twitter, Shkreli still can’t shake the spotlight. When you’ve offended both Donald Trump and indie musicians in a single day, you know you’ve really outdone yourself.
