Enrique Iglesias' hand is the first casualty in the war between drones and humans

Life as a famous musician in 2015 is dangerous. Not only do you have to battle paparazzi, grueling touring schedules, and economic pressure from streaming services, but sometimes a drone attacks your hand during the middle of your concert.

Enrique Iglesias found that one out the hard way at a show in Tijuana, Mexico, last night. Midway through the singer’s performance, a drone (which appeared to be the DJI Inspire 1 model) zoomed above his head on the stage. Iglesias reached for the drone, and the quadcopter’s blades cut his hand, making him bleed all over the stage.

Here’s the moment-of-impact GIF:

A representative for Iglesias told the AP that the singer was “semi-treated” during the concert, performed for another half-hour, and then was rushed to a specialist in Los Angeles. “During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot,” Iglesias’s rep said. “Something went wrong and he had an accident.”

After slicing his hand open, Iglesias decided to make the best of a painful situation, and drew a heart in blood on his white t-shirt. The show must go on, impending robot war or no impending robot war.

Bad at filling out bios seeks same.
