Finally: America Ferrera plans a return to TV

She’s been busy training dragons and standing up for women’s rights all over the globe, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, America Ferrera might just be back on TV this fall in the NBC comedy Superstore:

Single-camera entry Superstore is described as a comedy about a disparate group of employees working at a big-box store in middle America, and the love story that will ultimately unfold among them.

Ferrera won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her work on the groundbreaking Ugly Betty, which ran from 2006 to 2010.

Ben Feldman (from the quickly-cancelled A to Z and his frantic role as Michael Ginsberg on Mad Men) will play Ferrera’s love interest. Ferrera will both star in and produce the pilot, but it hasn’t been picked up as a series yet. I hope it will! She’s apparently passed on a few TV projects over the years, so maybe her interest in this show means it’s a great one.
