Fox News Host Hails America's Victory Over the Fictional Country of 'Communist Japan'
On Thursday’s Fox & Friends, host Ainsley Earhardt tried to shut down New York Governor Andrew Cuomo by reminding him of that one time America defeated “communist Japan.” Yep.
Earhardt’s statement was in response to a speech Cuomo made the previous day, where he said, “We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great.” Cuomo was speaking in the context of fighting for gender equality, but later decided to take the statement back, after he got pushback from Republican candidates. But Earhardt was still mad.
“We defeated communist Japan, radical Islamists,” she said. “We ask our men and our women to to go overseas to fight for our country, and sacrifice so much for this great country so we can be the land of the free, the land of the brave.”
Fellow host Steve Doocy jumped in, attempting to clarify the incorrect statement. “Yep. Communism, and Japan, and so many other things as well,” he said.
For our dear readers back home, we remind you that Japan was not a Communist nation during World War II… or any other time. While dropping atomic bombs on Japan, America allied itself with the Soviet Union, which was a Communist nation. Just in case anyone needed a refresher course.
