Fox News People: Wait, Is Our Network…Bad?
By some strange quirk of quantum physics, Fox News seems to operate in a discrete universe where any whiff of Robert Mueller’s ongoing Russia probe is nothing more than ephemeral nonsense. Also, Hillary Clinton is the president.
But within the bowels of Fox News, network employees have become increasingly aware that they’re the baddies in our collective mental breakdown.
In a series of messages sent to CNN by a number of Fox News employees (who, understandably, chose to remain anonymous) the rising realization—and, uh, seriously people, what took you so long—that Fox is a festering wound on the media landscape is on full display.
“I’m watching now and screaming. I want to quit,” one employee—described as a Fox “personality”—said of their own network’s non-coverage of the ongoing Mueller investigation.
“It’s an embarrassment,” another lamented. “Frankly, there are shows on our network that are backing the President at all costs, and it’s that short term strategy that undermines the good work being done by others.”
“Fox feels like an extension of the Trump White House,” another person observed. Ya think?
After years of broadcasting blatant distortions, propaganda, and outright falsehoods, it’s unclear why this is what tipped the scales into “wait a second, maybe WE’RE the problem” territory. Still, it’s unkind to admonish tardiness, when we should be celebrating the fact that they made it to this point at all.
