Here are America's most wanted suspected human traffickers

Sex trafficking of minors. Human smuggling. Harboring undocumented immigrants for financial gain.

These alleged crimes make up the rap sheets for 10 suspected human smugglers wanted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The list, released by the department on Wednesday, features men from Mexico, Guatemala, Uzbekistan and the United States.

The month of January is Homeland Security’s “National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month” and the upcoming Super Bowl — where patrons are regularly arrested for soliciting prostitutes — serves as an opportunity for the agency to raise awareness about trafficking crimes.

Earlier this week, a dozen bipartisan bills related to human trafficking passed in the House of Representatives. Not all the bills are new — some passed in the last Congress — but with Republicans now in control of the Senate, backers are hopeful they will fare better this time around.
