Firework sales are expected to hit a record $725 million this year, as cash-strapped states continue to loosen firework sales laws to raise revenue.

New York is the latest to do so—the Empire State just allowed “safe and sane” sparklers to be lit in residents’ backyard.

Given booming sales, retailers are presumably coming up with more amazing—and pricier—displays.

So we wanted to know: What is the most expensive firework you can buy in America?

The short answer is, it depends on if you have a professional pyrotechnics license. Since 2003, the U.S. has placed a 500-gram firepower limit on what a regular consumer can legally buy at their rural outlet. In the wake of the Millennium and the surge in patriotism after 9/11, fireworks sales began to soar, and it was decided more regulation was needed, APA director Julie Heckman told Fusion.

So what can you get? First you have to answer a question: Do you want maximum power, or maximum duration.

For the latter category, 76 Fireworks, one of the largest distributors in the country, sells something called the Jester’s Revenge that retails for $250.
