Lessons From Internment

Takeshi Furumoto is a Japanese American veteran who was born in an internment camp in 1944. He and his family experienced extreme racism in the United States, were stripped of their citizenship, and were deported after World War II. He was 12 when they were finally able to return.

Now, decades later, he talked to Splinter about what it feels like to have to live through a similar climate racial prejudice and mass hysteria under Donald Trump.
