Let’s say you need the perfect album to really encapsulate your Inner Feelings. You wanna say—maybe to that special someone—that you’re a sensitive type, dreamy and bohemian. But you don’t want to get all caught up in the bourgeois trap of folk music that your average bearded barista has heard of.
Behold, the new song by your favorite hipster’s favorite hipster secret: Linda Perhacs’ “Freely.” Perhacs, who’s based in L.A., released her last album, Parallelograms, in 1970, when she was just a young dental hygienist. Over the years it became a collector’s item thanks to its ethereal take on strummed songs. Now, she’s signed with a new label, Asthmatic Kitty, and will release her first album in 44 years next March.

Oh yeah, we’re talking about Perfect Pussy, a leading act from an awesome new wave of female-fronted, d.i.y.-leaning bands. The name kinda sums up a lot of what you need to know; this Syracuse band is loud, brash, proudly pro-female and doesn’t really care about any hating opinions you have about that.
They have a new four-track album you can listen to online, called i have lost all desire for feeling. If you want to know more, just be careful when Googling the band’s name, obvi.
