LIVEBLOG MADNESS: NIXON vs. CUOMO SMACKDOWN
Folks, the big dance is finally here: Queen and Icon Cynthia Nixon is gracing Andrew Cuomo, New York politician, for a gubernatorial debate tonight on Long Island. But because we are only somewhat sane, we’ll be liveblogging the event in real-time from the comfort of our homes.
The road to this evening has been even more fraught than expected. Just this week, the two camps clashed after Nixon’s campaign asked that the temperature in the room at Hofstra University be set at a tropical 76 degrees—it’s well known that Cuomo likes to hold events in freezing cold rooms—reasoning that workplaces are “notoriously sexist when it comes to temperature.”
Although our conversation will very much be live, the debate has, quite bizarrely, already happened. It was taped at 5 p.m. ET and will be broadcast starting at 7 p.m. on CBS and streaming on Facebook. Join us for all the sexism, socialism lite, and electoral politics you can stomach!
UPDATE, 8:43 PM ET: Missed the debate? Here’s a highlight reel of Cuomo blaming all of New York’s problems on…Donald Trump.
