Marilyn Monroe’s X-rays, Katharine Hepburn’s golf cart, and 9 more strange celebrity possessions on the auction block this month
Julien’s annual Hollywood Legends auction features items that once belonged to some of show business’ all-time brightest stars. This year’s big-ticket draws vary wildly, from an ensemble worn by Barbra Streisand in Vanity Fair (expected price: $1,200-$1,400) to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle previously owned by Marlon Brando (starting bid: $100,000). Also found among the Hollywood Legends offerings are the deeply intimate personal effects of celebrities, and more bizarre pop cultural memorabilia than even the most esoteric geek could dream of.
We studied the auction’s nearly 300-page catalog to find 11 of the most amusing, unsettling, or otherwise surprising lots scheduled to hit the block on June 26 and 27 in Beverly Hills. Ready your wallets.
