Melania Trump Is Done with The Donald
First lady Melania Trump has had some expressive moments in the public spotlight during the first year of her husband’s presidency.
There was the time that Donald rudely left her behind while greeting the Obamas at the White House on Inauguration Day.
And when she threw shade at Donald behind his back.
Or swatted his hand away in Tel Aviv.
Yet this was all before revelations were made public that he allegedly paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 in hush money to keep an affair private. The New York Times says that story really pissed off the first lady.
According to the Times:
Mrs. Trump and the president have had a tumultuous
relationship at times over the years, but few episodes have roiled the peace as
much as the news surrounding Ms. Daniels. The reports of a payoff blindsided
the first lady, who was furious with her husband, according to two people close
to the couple. She has kept a low profile since.
After that story broke, the first lady marked the one–year anniversary of Trump’s inauguration by tweeting out a photo of a fine–looking young man accompanying her.
She also canceled a scheduled trip to accompany the president to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, choosing instead to pay an unannounced visit to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. Then, she quietly went to the Trumps’ Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, to enjoy some quality time at a spa.
Last Tuesday, Melania broke longstanding tradition by snubbing her husband and riding separately with her guests to Trump’s State of the Union address.
But this weekend, Melania decided to accompany Donald and the couple’s son, Barron, to their FL golf resort, where presumably the president is hiding out from the embarrassing aftermath of the Devin Nunes memo.
Things don’t seem to have improved very much. A tweet by Palm Beach Post reporter George Bennett shows Melania lagging behind as the Trumps descend from Air Force One to board a limo en route to Mar-a-Lago. She blows right by The Donald, who stopped to wait for her in front of the flashing cameras of the news media. The president then clumsily waved to the cameras.
Ouch.
