Mike Huckabee's Gift to the Capital Gazette Shooting Victims Is a Picture of Himself

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is known for posting unintelligible combinations of words onto Twitter and calling them jokes. Just last week he caught flak for tweeting a picture of purported MS-13 gang members and joking they were part of Nancy Pelosi’s “campaign committee.” But today, his inability to understand how Twitter works seemed to reach a new and unfortunate level.

In what was clearly supposed to be some sort of tribute to the victims of the Capital Gazette shooting and their colleagues, Huckabee tweeted praise toward the staff of the Gazette—accompanied by not one, but two photos of himself. And yes, it was the same photo.

Hmm. The picture also appears as the main image of the short blog Huckabee’s tweet linked to (it’s probably a misplaced thumbnail or something). Ironically, a fair chunk of that blog was dedicated to insulting journalism, saying that some journalists displayed “bias, egomania and lax regard for fact-checking.”

How the picture made it to his tweet? Twice? The world may never know.
