Nicholas Kristof: use social media to make a difference

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nicholas Kristof tells youth to use the power of social media says today’s generation of youth are better informed and have “much more leverage to bring about change” than his generation did. And that’s an important lesson to remember, he says, because people who care the most about issues are the ones who have the most power to push for change.

“These days, if someone has passion to make a difference, it is remarkable what they can do with YouTube, with social media, with online petitions, with creating something that is going to go viral among other young people,” he said. “That’s incredible power you have in your hands. I hope you’ll use it.”
