Not all of Fox News is at war with Donald Trump
Fox News is at war with Donald Trump…sort of.
The network issued an extremely blistering statement after Trump tweeted that its star anchor and chief Trump enemy Megyn Kelly was “sick.”
The Fox News statement read, in part:
Donald Trump’s vitriolic attacks against Megyn Kelly and his extreme, sick obsession with her is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate who wants to occupy the highest office in the land.
Megyn is an exemplary journalist and one of the leading anchors in America — we’re extremely proud of her phenomenal work and continue to fully support her throughout every day of Trump’s endless barrage of crude and sexist verbal assaults.
The Trump campaign fired back with a response to the Fox News response to the Trump tweet.
Ahhhh! Such a big war going on! Well, partially. While Kelly and Trump are probably on the outs for life, other parts of Fox News are still very happy to hang out with the GOP frontrunner. In fact, just on Saturday, Trump was advertising an exclusive event in Phoenix with none other than Kelly’s colleague Sean Hannity. Kelly herself has also accused her fellow host Bill O’Reilly of failing to properly defend her against Trump in the past. So, really, the correct thing to say is that some of Fox News is at war with Donald Trump.
