People are losing it over Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s weirdly sexual new logo
UPDATE: Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s campaign unveiled a new logo on Saturday morning without explanation.
On Friday morning, Donald Trump confirmed earlier reports that he’d selected Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate, thereby propelling his campaign into a new stage, and necessitating a new campaign logo to reflect the completed ticket.
However, when a logo was unveiled by Trump’s official fundraising committee shortly after the announcement, it didn’t exactly radiate the sort of dignified presidential solemnity the Trump/Pence campaign probably was going for.
Instead it looked like the T and P were, well…doing stuff.
Sex stuff.
Innuendo aside, some also noted that the Trump/Pence campaign had made the classic schoolyard mistake of aligning themselves with an existing scatological abbreviation.
TP used to stand for ‘toilet paper’. It now stands for a different kind of asswipe. #TrumpPence pic.twitter.com/6SH1BjmYDl

This, in turn, gave rise to a whole host of resurrected Beavis and Butt-head memes featuring Beavis’ alter-ego, Cornholio, whose mid-90s catchphrase quickly became an ersatz campaign slogan.

But it wasn’t all sex jokes and bungholes. There were plenty of people who took issue with the new logo purely for its sub-par design, offering their own creations as proof that it didn’t need to be this way.
The Daily Beast’s Olivia Nuzzi also pointed out a distinct similarity between this new campaign logo, and that of the white supremacist Aryan Nations hate group—an connection made all the more vivid in light the longstanding criticism over Trump’s having not effectively distanced himself from nationalist hate groups in the past.
At this time, neither Trump or Pence have, themselves, addressed the logo. We will update this page if and when they do.
