Rudy Giuliani Is So Bad at His Job for Trump That He Had to Quit Another Job

Former New York City Mayor and current totally-not-losing-it presidential shill Rudy Giuliani officially resigned from the law firm Greenberg Traurig on Thursday, citing the “pressing demands” of his role defending President Donald Trump.

The decision comes nearly a month after Giuliani took an extended leave of absence to join the president’s legal team. At the time, he insisted that “I don’t think it’s going to take more than a week or two to get a resolution.” Clearly, he was extremely wrong.

In his statement, Giuliani seemed to acknowledge that going on TV to rant and scream and humiliate himself on the president’s behalf was more than the part-time job he’d initially envisioned:

In light of the pressing demands of the Mueller investigation, I believe it is in everyone’s best interest that I make a permanent resignation. This way my sole concentration can be on this critically important matter for our country.

Greenberg Traurig Executive Chairman Richard Rosenbaum praised Giuliani in a statement from the firm, calling him “a friend” for whom he has “a great deal of respect.” However, according to the New York Times, Giuliani’s manic spree of media appearances had managed to piss off many at the firm, who were angered by their onetime colleague’s insinuation that the sort of slush fund payments allegedly used by Trump attorney Michael Cohen to buy the silence of adult film star Stormy Daniels were commonly employed at Greenberg Traurig.

“That was money that was paid by his lawyer, the way I would do, out of his law firm funds,” Giuliani told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

Meanwhile, free from the constraints of his day job, Rudy will have plenty of time to do what he does best: Embarrass himself at the behest of a chronic liar who reportedly hates him.

We cannot speak for Mr. Giuliani with respect to what was intended by his remarks. Speaking for ourselves, we would not condone payments of the nature alleged to have been made or otherwise without the knowledge and direction of a client.
