SNL Makes A Wes Anderson Horror Movie Parody That We Wish Were Real

Actor Edward Norton finally made his Saturday Night Live hosting debut this weekend and didn’t hold back on bringing the funny. The bit that stole the night, however, was The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders, a parody trailer that imagines what it would look like if acclaimed indie/twee director Wes Anderson made a horror film.

Everything about this is so spot on: the Futura font, the recurring actors (Alec Baldwin, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, and Owen Wilson), the carefully constructed idiosyncrasies and — how could we forget — the listing of the quirky props.

Truth be told, we’d much rather see this move instead of the The Grand Budapest Hotel (slated for a 2014 premiere). Anyone who knows anything can tell you that Anderson lost his way after he stopped collaborating with Owen Wilson on screenplays (right after The Royal Tenenbaums).
