So, uh, anxious Americans keep crashing Canada's immigration websites

Does the website http://www.immigration.ca/ look familiar to you? How about http://www.cic.gc.ca/? The URLs might look familiar, but the actual contents probably do not, for good reason.

Those are two of the Canadian government’s websites for information on emigrating to Canada. As of 10:50 p.m. on the night of Election Day, they appear to be offline according to reports on social media and the website downforeverybodyorjustme.com.
