Take a Trip Across the World Via This Short Film That Uses Instagram Photos

This might come as a surprise to you but there’s value to Instagram beyond it being an enabler for the now ubiquitous selfie. To prove this point, Dutch creative director and filmmaker Thomas Julien took 852 images posted to the photo sharing platform and created a pretty fantastic stop-motion film with them.

The movie, which has the very Spartan title of “An Instagram short film,” takes the viewer on a journey across the world. Among the stops are the Parisian Arc de Triomphe, New York’s Washington Square Park, and even the famed Sydney Opera House. The best part of the short film, however: no duck faces or food porn show up.
