The 2016 election is STILL an entire year away

People may be forgiven for thinking that the 2016 election was right around the corner, given that it has been seemingly going on forever. Sorry! There is a full year to go before we know who the next president of the United States. That’s right: we have to get to November 8, 2016 to make this thing come to an end.

To break that down a little more: that’s 366 days (2016 is a leap year) of freaking out about polls. 52 weeks of dissecting stray remarks that Hillary Clinton makes as she passes reporters in a hallway she’s walking down. 8784 hours of over-analyzing candidate tweets. 527,040 minutes of Marco Rubio credit card detective work. 3.162e+7 seconds (seriously, that’s what Google said) of “did that ad go too far?” and debates and fundraising and conventions and politicians pointing at crowds and smiling and flags and gaffes and scandals and money and excuse us while we hyperventilate because THERE IS STILL A WHOLE YEAR OF THIS TO GO.

Happy Sunday!
