The immigrant artist behind the Donald Trump buttplug has no plans to stop there

Fernando Sosa does not want you to sit on his 3D-printed buttplug that’s modeled after Donald Trumps face. Instead, he wants you to put it on a shelf or coffee table, where it might spark a conversation about the GOP’s recent handful of Presidential hopefuls who were in no rush to disagree with Trump. Sosa, who is a Mexican immigrant, was inspired to begin printing his new “DumpTrump” novelty sex toys after Trump’s racist assertion that Mexico was knowingly sending rapists and criminals into the United States.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump infamously intoned. “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”

“I usually make Butt plugs to insult dictators, homophobes and politicians,” Sosa explained on his Shapeways page. “However, when I heard Donald Trump’s remarks about Mexicans and latinos from south america, I was extremely angry.”

For Sosa, Trump’s words about Mexicans cut deep because of his heritage as both a Mexican and an immigrant. At the age of 11, he immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico with his Finnish step-father and Mexican mother. In the years since he’s been in the States, Sosa’s graduated from college, started up his own business in Orlando, and is, by all accounts, living the American Dream. Sosa explained that while he’s understands that being bombastic is a part of the American political game, there’s no justifying Trump’s behavior.

“You shouldn’t have to attack immigrants, gays, or anyone to be president,” Sosa told Fusion. “But I guess that’s just what the GOP’s become.”

As a part of his day job, Sosa creates three-dimensional mock ups of hardware products that startup founders use to pitch ideas to potential investors. He told Fusion that making the jump from producing iPhone cases and charging stations to printing out politically-themed sex toys wasn’t all that difficult. Sosa’s first set of politically-charged figurines, modeled after Vladimir Putin and Chris Christie, were inspired by the headlines the two politicians’ drummed up in 2014.

The Christie “action figure” depicts the New Jersey Governor attempting to direct traffic, and Putin, another buttplug, was developed in response to Russian’s draconian treatment of the country’s queer population.

“I don’t think Putin’s an actual homophobe, I just think he’s using homophobia for his own political gains,” Sosa admitted. “One of the best ways to attack a dictator is to attack their image. Putin wants you to imagine him shirtless, wrestling bears. I want you to associate him with a butt plug.”

Sosa says that he plans on making limited runs of insertive novelties for every Republican candidate who decides to dabble in the same racist sort of hate mongering Trump has.

“We’re not rapists, we’re not drug dealers, we own our own businesses and we pay taxes,” he said. “And you never know, some of us might know how to turn your face into a buttplug.”
