The president of Mexico just called BS on Donald Trump's latest border wall claim

In a truly shocking turn of events, Donald Trump may have just told a lie about something.

In his joint press conference with Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto on Wednesday, Donald Trump curiously claimed the two men had not spoken about who would pay for Trump’s famed wall on the Mexican border.

It was a bit of a chin-scratching moment, because, uh, Donald Trump has taken quite the liking to declaring Mexico is going to pay for the wall.

Well, chin-scratchers, turns out your chin-scratching was justified, because just hours after the presser’s conclusion, Peña Nieto tweeted that the two had indeed discussed terms of the wall’s payment, and that he had told Trump that Mexico would not be paying for the wall. Woo, okay then.

Trump’s spokesman gave a response that was ambiguous, to say the least.

Trump gave an immigration speech in Arizona Wednesday evening, where he addressed the issue of wall payment, but didn’t address Peña Nieto’s claim that he refused to pay for the wall.

He described the wall “impenetrable, tall, powerful, beautiful,” but Peña Nieto as “wonderful.”
