The White House Is Freaking Out That Fox News Won't Air Trump Rallies Live Anymore

If there’s one thing the Trump administration has been able to count on for these past two years, it’s that the goblins at Fox News will reliably provide as much free media for the president as possible, while breathlessly cheerleading his every deranged policy decision and logorrheic spasm. But it seems that even Fox is starting to tire of Trump’s increasing repetitiousness, and is no longer interrupting its regularly scheduled programming to broadcast the president’s MAGA rallies live.

Citing increased frequency and declining ratings, Politico reported that although Fox News continues to stream the president’s campaign events online, the network has recently stopped broadcasting the rallies live, opting instead to air edited clips and highlights.

The move, while perfectly understandable for a TV network whose ultimate bottom line is to make as much money as possible, has nevertheless caught the White House—which enjoys a freakishly incestuous relationship with Fox—off-guard.

Per Politico:

One senior White House official was unsure why the network would decide to cut away from presidential rallies, saying officials planned “to look into that” and wouldn’t be surprised if White House communications director Bill Shine, a former Fox News executive, was in touch with former colleagues about the trend.

Fox’s decision comes just three months after the network overtly criticized other stations for not airing Trump’s Duluth, MN, rally live.

This doesn’t mean that Fox isn’t still wholly in the bag for the president. There are plenty of other ways that Trump can capitalize on having an entire TV network essentially at his beck and call—such as calling into its morning talk show and ranting like a goddamn lunatic.
