These Are The Two Best Music Retrospective Mashups On The Internet

It’s that time of the year again, folks! Out this week are two massive pop music mashups that highlight the best—well, most popular—songs of the last 12 months. It’s also the time of the year where I expose how much of a Philistine I am when it comes to Top 40 radio.

Up first is Daniel Kim, whose 2013 edition of his Danthology contains samples from 68 jams, including Baauer’s “The Harlem Shake,” Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” and The Artist Formerly Known As Hannah Montana’s “Wrecking Ball.” According to Kim’s site, the whole process took him more than 180 hours to make the five minute video.

Also out on YouTube is DJ Earworm’s “United State of Pop 2013 (Living the Fantasy),” which feels more like an actual song instead of a mashup.
