This DACAmented Soccer Coach Is Getting Ready for a Fight

Omar Ramirez, a DACA recipient since 2012, coaches Soccer Without Borders, which helps underserved immigrant youth.

DACA “completely changed my life,” he says, and inspired him to help others. He says he’s going to fight Trump’s reversal of the policy.

“This is my time to fight. And there’s a lot of people like me that are fighting,” says Ramirez.

Ramirez’s brother was deported in 2011 and now he’s worried he’ll also be forced to leave. His biggest fear is not being able to see his 6-year-old sister grow up if he’s deported to Mexico.

“I haven’t done anything wrong and I feel like I am being judged and discriminated against,” Ramirez says.

DACA protected almost 800,000 people who came to the U.S. as children.
