Trump To Waste Everyone's Time by Touring a Bunch of Stupid Border Wall Prototypes

President Donald Trump will reportedly head to southern California at the end of this month for a firsthand look at the prototypes of his “big, beautiful” border wall between the United States and Mexico.

Speaking with Axios’ Mike Allen, administration sources said that Trump will head to San Diego after his second State of the Union speech on January 30 and tour the staging ground where eight prototypes of his long-promised wall have been built. There, he will presumably walk around and say extremely presidential things like: “This is a very good wall,” and “I don’t like this wall as much as the other wall,” and “Wow, can you believe all these walls??”

For reference, here’s what he’ll be looking at:

Scintillating stuff!

Trump’s proposed wall has recently become a major sticking point in ongoing negotiations between the administration and congressional Democrats. The White House insists that any legislation to help undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children must include funding for the wall. And, despite his repeated—and highly dubious—claim that Mexico will ultimately cover the entire cost of the wall, Trump last week asked Congress for $18 billion to begin its construction.

Trump was initially set to visit the wall prototypes this week but rescheduled the trip to allow for the equally important duty of watching a college football game.

The trip will mark Trump’s first visit to California since moving into the White House. He is the first president to skip a trip there during his first year in office in more than six decades.
