Tucker Carlson Is Heroically Giving Men a Platform for Women's History Month

Finally, someone in America is giving men a platform.

Who is the person bravely venturing into uncharted territory to explore the plight of men—to let men speak their minds? Our paladin is none other than pastel bowtie in human form Tucker Carlson, a man who personifies the struggles of men every weeknight by talking on his widely watched cable program named after himself.

On Tuesday night, the Fox News host announced that he would dedicate a weekly segment for the rest of March—which happens to be Women’s History Month—to the “crisis” facing American men.

“We hear a lot about female empowerment in this country, and, of course, we’re totally for that—we’re for empowering all Americans,” Carlson said. “But for some reason, you almost never hear anything about how men are doing in America.”

It’s true. You never hear about how men are doing in our politics, which have been dominated by men throughout American history. Nor do you hear how men are doing in the economy, where men overwhelmingly control the country’s largest companies and generally take home larger paychecks. As for culture? Well, I didn’t see anyone calling on the male Oscar nominees to stand up on Sunday night. And by the way: Free Tom Brady.

Carlson said his team “took a close look at the numbers, and found them so shocking” that he needed to do something for the public good. While Carlson did not elaborate on which “numbers” he was referencing, he added:

You’ll be stunned by the scope of the crisis. We were. It’s a largely ignored disaster—and it is a disaster. We hope you’ll also be heartened by some of the potential solutions we’ll be looking at.

As a forgotten man in America, I say thank you, Tucker Carlson. This country was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and it’s about time we start living up to it.
