Tucker Carlson Is Tired of People Yelling "Fuck You" At Him in Restaurants
Direct action is one of the most effective forms of protest, and in the case of Tucker Carlson, it certainly appears to be working.
Carlson said on a National Review podcast released Monday that he was “not a restaurant guy anymore,” mostly because people have been shouting abuse at him in public.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, which did us all the service of listening to the National Review podcast so we don’t have to:
“I can’t really go to a lot of restaurants anymore because I get yelled at,” he said on a National Review podcast released Monday. “I don’t feel threatened, but having someone scream, ‘Fuck you!’ at a restaurant, it just wrecks your meal.”
Carlson said he only goes to one restaurant these days. “I go there because I love it and nobody hassles me,” he said. “I can’t wait for this revolution to end, so I can go back out to dinner.” (He’s known to be a regular at The Palm, a steak house.)
This is a legal and effective way of protesting someone. People like Tucker Carlson deserve to told to go fuck themselves at every possible opportunity.
I am not suggesting that in any circumstance you threaten Carlson with harm, or behave in a manner that causes him to feel threatened. That is illegal. There are many ways to make your displeasure of a person known and shouting “Fuck you” at them is a pretty good one. You could also ask Carlson repeatedly and loudly why he insists on recycling white nationalist talking points on his show every week. He won’t answer you, but you can ask him those things until the restaurant asks one or both of you to leave.
There is absolutely no reason that Tucker Carlson, or Kirstjen Nielsen, or Ted Cruz, or Sarah Huckabee Sanders should be able to enjoy a meal in public without hearing from the public.
Carlson, for example, is a famous person with a gigantic platform that he exclusively uses to fuel hate, disinformation, and ignorance to the third-largest cable news audience in the country. If Carlson wants to enjoy a steak at any restaurant of his choice, he can stop doing that. It is very simple. He can talk about different things on his show. He can also quit his job any time. He has plenty of money. He is, of course, protected by the First Amendment in saying all of the horrible, racist and deceitful things he says on his show, in exactly the same way that you are protected when you tell Tucker Carlson that his show is trash and that he is a bad person.
Exercising your rights is a good thing. Punching up is a good thing. Shouting “Fuck you” at Tucker Carlson is a good thing.
