Thanks to a new voter initiative law in Washington state, residents can now legally smoke weed just for the joy of smoking weed — no prescriptions needed.
But the irony of legalization is that it puts two enemies on the same side: Mexican drug cartels, and, wait for it, the U.S. government.
The legalization measure could make pot cheaper — something drug cartels don’t want to see. And with marijuana still illegal under federal law, the Feds aren’t thrilled either.
