Where Is Casey Kasem, Radio Icon and Scooby Doo Voice Actor?
Casey Kasem, the legendary radio DJ and voice actor behind Scooby Doo‘s Shaggy, has mysteriously disappeared. A judge last night ordered an investigation into his whereabouts.
Due to his declining health, Kasem, 82, had been living in a medical facility chosen by his current wife, Jean Kasem. ABC News reports that Jean Kasem’s lawyer told a judge, “I have no idea where he is…he’s no longer in the United States.” His daughter, Kerri Kasem, has speculated that he could be on an Indian Reservation.

The disappearance comes amid an ongoing court battle between Kasem’s three children from another marriage and his current wife. Kerri Kasem, one of his three children, was awarded temporary conservatorship of her father, which she believes prompted Jean Kasem to flee with the ailing former DJ.
Here’s what Kerri Kasem tweeted:
Justice was finally served! I just won temporary conservatorship over my father’s healthcare. We have been vindicated by the court. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes and support through this entire ordeal.
I believe my father’s wife fled the country (or possibly went to an Indian Reservation) with my Dad because she knew I would win in court today. The judge ordered, Adult Protective Services, the PVP Attorney and the police to look for him. Please pray that he is safe.
Here’s a special report from 1983 in which Kasem reviews a “tiny new compact digital disc that’s played by a laser beam” also known as a CD.
