White House Releases Report Contradicting All of Its Lies About Climate Change

The Trump administration on Friday released the results of a massive environmental study, created by 13 federal agencies, which arrives to one inescapable conclusion: Climate change is extremely real, and humans are absolutely at fault.

From the study:

This assessment concludes, based on extensive evidence, that it is extremely likely that human activities, especially emissions of greenhouse gases, are the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century. For the warming over the last century, there is no convincing alternative explanation supported by the extent of the observational evidence. [Emphasis theirs]

While the idea that humans are responsible for rapid global warming is a pretty unsurprising conclusion to anyone who isn’t either painfully stupid, or wholly in the pocket of the various special interests responsible for causing climate change in the first place, this new study seems to fly directly in the face of its source: The Trump administration.

Since taking office, the White House and its accompanying agencies have become packed with officials conspicuously unwilling to state the overwhelmingly research-backed case that global warming is a real phenomenon—even going so far as to scrub references to climate change from the National Institute of Health website. And when asked about the human impact on climate change, Trump has repeatedly declared himself a nonbeliever, tweeting in 2012, “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.”

Which makes the discrepancy between that nonsense and the information in the study so baffling to observers.

“This report has some very powerful, hard-hitting statements that are totally at odds with senior administration folks and at odds with their policies,” Philip B. Duffy, president of the climate change-focused Woods Hole Research Center, told the New York Times. “It begs the question, where are members of the administration getting their information from? They’re obviously not getting it from their own scientists.”

Earlier this summer, some of the scientists working on the report leaked a draft to the public, seemingly out of fear that the president might block its findings. Nevertheless, the study’s authors insist their work was allowed to proceed unmolested.

“I’m quite confident to say there has been no political interference on the messages of this report,” NOAA scientist and report lead David Fahey told the Times.

So, embrace the fact that this report was published at all. But, let’s keep in mind that the president has already pulled the United States out of the Paris climate agreement, refuses to put a fraction of the enthusiasm he shows for polluting industries like coal and oil into their green alternatives, and continues to show an antipathy toward environmentalism that borders on pathological.
