White House Sinkhole and Most Obvious Metaphor of the Year Keeps Growing

A sinkhole that some on the internet have referred to as a “hellmouth” has developed in front the White House and is reportedly “growing larger by the day.”

Breitbart’s White House correspondent Charlie Spiering posted a picture of the sinkhole on Tuesday morning, saying it was right behind Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley’s office. As metaphors go, it’s a bit on the nose.

Voice Of America’s White House bureau chief Steve Herman also noted that the sinkhole just keeps on growing.

Then Twitter got involved.

Others have already come up with some conspiracy theories to explain how the sinkhole came to be. Some say it was God answering prayers. Others say it’s the swamp draining itself. My favorite might be this one.
