Why Did Bret Stephens Decide to Work for MSNBC? (Spoiler Inside)
Bret Stephens, who triumphantly overcame being a middle-aged white man in order to land a job as a New York Times columnist, also accepted a gig this week as an MSNBC contributor. But why?
The Hollywood Reporter wondered: Why would a conservative mainstream newspaper columnist accept a part-time job also saying his opinions on cable TV, sometimes? Stephens told them:
“Superb programming. Shows I watch (and that my mom watches). [MSNBC president] Phil Griffin. Plus I am a contrarian by nature.”
The actual answer is “I am being paid money to perform an incredibly easy task.”
