Winner of North Carolina's GOP Primary Asks: 'What's Wrong With Being a White Supremacist?'

A North Carolina Republican candidate thinks “God is a racist” white supremacist and Jews are descended from Satan. And he still won the primary election.

Russell Walker is running for state House District 48, which includes Scotland and Hoke counties. But he’s become best known for his outlandish, disturbing remarks.

Here are just a few examples. From a section labeled “White Supremacy” on his personal website:

What is wrong with being a white supremacist? God is a racist and a white supremacist.

From the same section:

Someone or group has to be supreme and that group is the whites of the world … In all history in sub-Saharan Africa, no two-story building or a waterproof boat was ever made.

His site also features a section titled “Only The Color Of His Skin”:

The Jews are not Semitic they are Satanic as they all descend from Satan.

Apparently, he’s a misogynist too. Here is an excerpt from “Women Are The Weaker Sex”:

“Women are much more willing than men to accept non Israelites – muds, ‘blacks’, ‘nigras’ etc. in the voting booth and in bed, than are Israelite men. This is the weak link in our society and the Caucasian race is declining and on its way to extinction because of it.”

In 2017, Walker filed a lawsuit in South Carolina to have Confederate flags and portraits of Confederate generals remain in the main courtroom of the York County Courthouse. The case was dismissed.

The North Carolina Republican Party withdrew its support for Walker on Tuesday.

“Based on recent behavior and previous statements, the North Carolina Republican Party is unable and unwilling to support the Republican nominated candidate for North Carolina House District 48,” GOP chairman Robin Hayes said in a statement Tuesday.

Unfortunately, Walker has declined to step down and cannot be forced off the ballot.

It’s hard to decide which is worse: that there’s a guy like him running for office in the first place or there are people who actually voted for him.
