YAAAAAS! One of America's Most Evil Agencies Just Got Its First Ever Girlboss
After 94 years of kicking (immigrant) ass and (literally) taking names at the U.S. border, the Border Patrol just got its first woman girlboss.
Carla Provost, who has been the acting head of the agency, was officially appointed its first female chief on Thursday. Just 5% of the organization’s employees are women which, according to NBC News, has remained almost unchanged from when Provost first joined up 23 years ago.
As you might expect, Provost supports President Trump’s plan to build (and somehow pay for) a southern border wall and was described by Customs and Border Protection commissioner Kevin McAleenan as “an agent’s agent,” which, knowing what Border Patrol agents are all about, is awfully telling.
But enough about all that! Provost said she is “humble and proud” about the appointment and also said she wants to use the position to champion women.
“When it comes to women obviously there is always more that we can do,” she told the New York Times. “I know that I am the first female to lead the agency but I definitely know that I will not be the last one.”
HIRE MORE FEMALE GUARDS, QUEEN!
